Thurs 09/06/11 La La Vasquez, Waiters and Former Bullies. The Castle Hotel, M/c.
Great early 80's sounding anglar pop from Brighton with two of Manchester's best low-fi scuzz balls. Former Bullies in particular are developing a great 60's Nuggets/Pebbles-style vibe.

Fri 10/06/11.Pains of being pure at heart. Sound control, M/c.
Best known of the new wave of American C-86 style indie pop bands, sadly with a few rough edges shorn from their new album, should still be devastating live.

Sat 11/06/11. Part chimp, Bong, Hey Collosus, Deathscalator and more... Islington Mill, Salford. 4pm.
Unfortunately, this is the last amazing gig from the wonderful M.I.E Music promoter Henry who moves back to London after thisShould be a monster riff-tastic event with some of the heaviest bands on the UK underground. Especially looking forward to Scottish stoners Bong.

Sun 12/06/11.  Aisle of Light Festival. S John the Evangelist Church, Lancaster. 2pm start.
Another great day out this time with a foky vibe featuring Nancy Elizabeth, Dan Haywood's New Hawks, Sam and the Plants and Paddy Steer amongst others.

Rising star Merril Garbus fuses elements of acoustic folk, R n B, funk and Afro pop.

Great lo-fi slacker grunge-pop from M/c band on Fat Cat.

Wed 15/06/11.Las Robertas and Kellies. Deaf Institute, M/c.
Possibly gig of the fortnight. Female garage rock from Costa Rica and Argentina. Do I ave to say any more? Highest Recommendation.

Sheffield shoe gazers who compare themselves to Sonic Youth etc.

Sun 19/06/11. Save your Breath. Retro Bar, M/c.
Welsh pop punkers.

Mon 20/06/11. Boris and Russian Circles. Islington Mill, Salford.
Japanese Drone/doom pioneers Boris could either be very heavy or very psychadelic. Russian Circles are a prog/metal instrumental outfit.
